About

As a contemporary art metal sculptor working primarily in steel and stainless steel, Heath Satow has been creating iconic scale public art pieces since 1989. He does not work in editions; thus guaranteeing each piece created by his studio is the only one like it in the world.

Satow’s formal training as a designer enables him to create sculpture that works harmoniously with its surroundings, while his artistic instinct provides inspiration and creativity to produce fresh and distinctive work. His art has been commissioned for many public sites including an airport, zoos, hospitals, corporations and museums in locations as diverse as Palm Desert, Hong Kong, and Dubai. These works have become icons and points of reference for the communities in which they are located.

Satow’s artistic focus is to utilize the natural qualities of metals and other materials to create contemporary yet inviting interpretive sculpture. He designs each sculpture specifically for it’s location and to meet the goals of the project. His forte in the public art arena is the ability to effectively communicate institution/municipality message and engage the viewer with his artistic and interpretive abilities.

Passionately committed to environmentally sustainable design, all of Satow’s materials are durable and virtually maintenance-free. His sculptures are created through direct fabrication, with all metals being 100% recyclable. Any waste generated during production is completely recycled.
