Solace is a contemplative sculpture inspired by my father, whose daily ritual of sitting in a quiet field at sunrise during his battle with lung cancer became a source of calm and resilience. Evoking the warmth and stillness of those moments, Solace takes the form of a radiant golden circle, a sun and symbol of wholeness. Its subtly curved facets reflect shifting tones of sky and earth to create a soft, immersive glow. Created to offer a sense of peace rather than command attention, the intent is to provide a place of quiet reflection for those who are overwhelmed, whether patients, families, or caregivers, this sculpture embodies comfort, presence, and the restorative power of light.
